Jailbreaking an iOS for Apple devices is difficult, even it is difficult for hackers to crack iOS. But, recently, a team named checkra1n has announced the new version of the jailbreaking tool for iOS 14. The first Jailbreak of iOS 14 is now available for older devices, and some of the new devices also have support.
Unpatchable iOS 14 Permanent Jailbreak For Older iPhones
The team checkra1n has enabled the jailbreak for almost all the iPhones from iPhone 5s. It is claimed that it is a “permanent unpatchable bootrom exploit” which can be a permanent jailbreak.
Here is the tweet by checkra1n:
checkra1n 0.11.0 is now available, adding support for iOS 14 on A9(X) devices and below.

While announcing about the software release, the team said, “it needed more time to work for a new security relief.”
In iOS 14, Apple added a new mitigation to SEPOS on A10 and above (except on Apple TVs and iBridge): if the device was booted from DFU mode and the Secure Enclave receives a request to decrypt user data, it will panic the device. Since checkm8 does not give us control over the Secure Enclave, this is not trivial to workaround. However, with the recently published blackbird vulnerability, we are able to get control of the Secure Enclave on A10 and A10X and disable this mitigation. Support for A10 and A10X devices is being worked on and is expected to be ready in the coming weeks.
Recently, Apple has launched iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 for all the users. So, check out the list of the devices which supports iOS 14 with which you can use checkra1n.
checkra1n works for the following devices:
- iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and SE
- iPad (5th generation)
- iPad Air 2
- iPad mini 4
- iPad Pro (1st generation)
- Apple TV 4 and 4K
The team said the newer devices would get support in the coming weeks with support for iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
The team is planning to add the support to the following devices:
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- 6th-gen iPad
- 7th-gen iPad
- iPod touch 7
- 2nd-gen iPad Pro.
Before this, the checkra1n jailbreak was on hardware vulnerability which was found in almost all the A-series CPU of Apple up to A11 Bionic chip. As it was a hardware exploit, Apple couldn’t repair with a software update. However, the company came up with a block installation on the A10 chip.
